January 2nd

A big day for Cooper and the boys as Grandpa Ivan took them all to the Cinema which is a converted squash court to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chipwrecked.  They apparently had the C&C music factory hit dance tune “everybody dance now”  in the movie  because we were treated to Cooper singing it every 5 minutes for the next week.
After they got back we did a local interesting sites tour around the Kingaroy area.  going to see the swinging bridge at Cooyer and had lunch.  Then we went to The Palms national park, which is a tropical rainforest area in the middle of nowhere.  The fruit bats were thicker than fleas on a manure pile.  They were very active during the day and very interesting to watch not a sight you get to see very often.  The we went to go see Coomba falls.  Lots of sightseeing in one day.

Giving a big tree a big hug
More fruit bats.  Look how big and hairy they are.  Black wings and brown bodies.  Like miniature upside down hanging grizzzly bears.
Monster rainforest trees Moreton Bay fig tree.  notice the roots almost look like tentacles of some great beast.
